The UK Kennel Club categorises breeds based on their original jobs.
However, the evolution of certain dogs can place them in a different group than expected.
Breed recognition reflects the roles dogs performed in the past.
These dogs no longer fit into other group categories.
Breeders developed these dogs for a special purpose.
However, if that purpose doesn't fit into another group, such as the Pastoral or Working Group, the dog is placed in the Utility Group.
